Akbash is a nickname, while Akbash Dog (or the Turkish name, Akbaş Çoban Köpeği) is the official name as per the United Kennel Club (only reputable registry that recognizes it), Akbash Dogs International, and the Akbash Dog Association of America. Having Akbash as the article's title would be akin to changing German Shepherd Dog to "German Shepherd" -- confusion is unlikely, but it's informal and, like I mentioned in the Belgian Tervuren move request, not technically correct. — anndelion (talk) 11:13, 29 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

title says it all. kangal dog from turkey is NOT a white LGD breed, so it should be taken out of the "white lgd breeds" list. (and i just got that out of the list) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.107.239.184 (talk) 01:05, 8 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
