[edit]Saw this article linked from the Community Portal. Moved it to the singular, as general practice suggests. --FOo 06:52, 10 Jan 2005 (UTC)
would like to question the last edit. im not that familiar with editing this so im just going to ask was my post changed because of its content or because of the fact that it was poorly written (came here today to remedy that)
if it WAS because of content i also wonder if that was because it is a colorful take on the term, or because i didn't cite a source (also came to remedy that) Porn Star: The Legend of Ron Jeremy. dir. Scott J. Gill, District Films, distributed by Maelstrom Entertainment feel free to check to memorable quotes section of the imdb listing
would really like an answer because i think the addition with modification could be a valuable addition to the article seeing as people are more likely to come here wondering about what some pornstar was talking about then what that old guy that lives in the woods is called. 67.163.248.37 05:31, 14 September 2007 (UTC)
Not About Actual Woodsmen
[edit]This article is about woodcraft competitions. It is nothing about actual woodsmen (men who live in the woods, are knowledgeable in woodlore, and are skilled in woodcrafts).

This article does refer to the actions of what modern-day "woodsmen" participate in though. Lumberjacks have their own page, but woodsman is the more modern term for participants in timer sports. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cassiusdog22 (talk • contribs) 22:27, 29 February 2024 (UTC)

Section Specifically about Woodsmen Competitons/ Timber sports
[edit]I think this article could be greatly improved if the section about timber sports and woodsman competitions, was separated from the definition of woodsman. Although the subjects are intertwined, I also think a distinction between Woodsman and Lumberjack should be specified. It has proven hard to find a well-researched article explaining the differences between the two, but locally, and through the community that I have been involved with, there is a distinction. Links
[edit]I wanted to add a link about the choker cables, but there really is no appropriate information to cite as all the information I could find is related to selling them. 2600:6C52:7BF0:6A50:907:3E2D:EA8F:D (talk) 02:03, 3 March 2024 (UTC)
References
[edit]All of the current references have improperly functioning links. I found a variety of sources that cover the same information from more recent sources. I am going to remove the old links, and insert new citations/ references in properly cited APA7. Cassiusdog22 (talk) 02:21, 3 March 2024 (UTC)
