- I announced this new page on the pump but it may easily have got lost amongst the longer discussions. It is also now on the various index pages for the Wikipedia namespace so hopefully it will enter the collective conciousness of the community if people think it is useful.
- On the wider point, if you spot someone doing good things I think the best place to thank them is their talk page or an appropiate article talk page. I do this myself, although probably not as often as I should. However I thought beyond that there was scope for thanking someone more publically. We'll see if it's got any legs! - I like this page. I had once considered making a similar page, especially with the idea of recognizing significant contributions by people who aren't all that publicly visible. User:Academic Challenger, for example, has done a very large amount of work without most people knowing who he is, because he rarely participates in discussions and doesn't do anything that anyone objects to. I was flattered to be placed on this page (and will put other people here in due course), but I'd be uncomfortable receiving or nominating people for something like editor of the week.
