[edit]Even Al Jazeera mention that this newspaper is operated by Saudis. https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2020/04/turkey-blocks-saudi-emirati-state-news-websites-200419112800587.html
"The Turkish website of the UK-based Independent newspaper, ******which is operated by a Saudi company,**** was one of the sites to be blocked on Sunday, in a move that its editor said reflected political tensions between Riyadh and Ankara."
I think it is important enough to be mention in the article.

[edit]Misnomer
[edit]Despite its name, "The Independent", the newspaper has been completely pro Harris and anti Trump in the forthcoming US election 2024. Surely within the first paragraph or two of this article this should be stated to make the public aware that names can be misleading. 150.143.179.61 (talk) 09:57, 2 November 2024 (UTC)
- Well the lead is short and could be expanded. Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Lead section has suggestions. As to the name misleading people, my opinion is that the name is in italics so people should be aware that it is a proper noun, not a verb describing the contents. I also have more faith in people's nouse I guess. I have never trusted The Guardian more than other papers because I think it "guards" my interests, for example. Speaking of The Guardian, it has "mainstream left" readership in its lead, giving readers a tipoff about potential political viewpoints. Commander Keane (talk) 10:19, 2 November 2024 (UTC)
