The "History" section needs some heavy editing, it reads like a mix of an advert and the sort of puff you put in a covering letter when applying for a job! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.129.154.30 (talk) 11:33, 1 August 2014 (UTC)
This reference seems controversial so I'll put it here: chocolate fountains faq Note that the point of references is so that people can check facts. Kappa 08:37, 17 Feb 2005 (UTC)
I posted a link to Chocolate Fountain Newcastle along with a picture. The picture was aproved but the link kept being removed. Im new to wiki, are my external links not allowed?

As someone that owns several chocolate fondue fountains and has operated them, I'd really like to contribute to this section. I understand Wikipedia's policies and I'm not here to spam but I do want to contribute. I just posted a link to a [1], a chocolate fountain rental directory that is free, contains information about all of the USA, and has no advertisements. Why is that link not allowed?
To further that, the one link in the article is a commercial link and far from the best resource on the subject. talk
Manufacturer links
[edit]At present there are links to 11 manufacturers, only a few of which offer appreciable information on them (per the expand-section tag someone added). It doesn't seem like this many links are needed. I'd suggest simply removing them all: a search engine can provide this information if someone wants to find such a webpage and if a manufacturer is notable they should get their own page here. Some of these manufacturers don't even specialize in chocolate fountains as best I can tell (e.g. Giles & Postner and Rival) and others just seem to be advertisements (the most recently added ones). digfarenough (talk) 22:40, 17 March 2007 (UTC)
- There is clear Wikipedia policy against having a section that serves as a directory. I have removed it from the article. -SCEhardT 04:59, 18 March 2007 (UTC)
Viscosity and vegetable oil
[edit]I've added a note to the article, to the effect that the viscosity problem especially affects smaller fountains. As a personal experience (and therefore probably not encyclopedic), I'd add that milk chocolate, sufficiently thinned with vegetable oil tastes absolutely revolting. I have one of these machines, and it is great if you treat it like an enhanced chocolate-fondue, rather than as a table-decoration. My advice is to abandon any attempt to make the fluid flow smoothly, and use chocolate which tastes good. Unmodified 70% cocoa Lindt works very well, especially with something extremely sweet and juicy, such as pineapple. The flow may be somewhat gloopy, but you'll prefer the taste! Blacklisted Links Found on the Main Page
[edit]Cyberbot II has detected that page contains external links that have either been globally or locally blacklisted. Links tend to be blacklisted because they have a history of being spammed, or are highly innappropriate for Wikipedia. This, however, doesn't necessarily mean it's spam, or not a good link. If the link is a good link, you may wish to request whitelisting by going to the request page for whitelisting. If you feel the link being caught by the blacklist is a false positive, or no longer needed on the blacklist, you may request the regex be removed or altered at the blacklist request page. If the link is blacklisted globally and you feel the above applies you may request to whitelist it using the before mentioned request page, or request it's removal, or alteration, at the request page on meta. When requesting whitelisting, be sure to supply the link to be whitelisted and wrap the link in nowiki tags. The whitelisting process can take its time so once a request has been filled out, you may set the invisible parameter on the tag to true. Please be aware that the bot will replace removed tags, and will remove misplaced tags regularly.
