I'm unaware of any policy that would support the creation of an alternate, image-free version of an article, any more than it would be alright to create an alternate version without "objectionable" or "graphic" descriptions. Unless you can point me to such a policy, I am going to list this for deletion. Postdlf 15:33, 18 Apr 2005 (UTC)
Chattanooga
[edit]I was just reading your excellent article on Chattanooga when I noticed a sentence fragment. In the second paragraph of the "Economy" section, you'll see the sentence "Following the city's industrial decline, many businesses in the banking and insurance industries." I wasn't quite sure where you were headed with that, so I thought I'd call it to your attention. Dmleach 12:17, 25 Apr 2005 (UTC)
- The sentence fragment has been fixed. Thanks for pointing it out. Chattanooga is my adopted hometown, so I decided to adopt its WP article as well. --ZekeMacNeil 15:10, 25 Apr 2005 (UTC)
- My pleasure. My wife and I visit Chattanooga four or five times a year to help with the many quizbowl tournaments UTC hosts. We were just there this past weekend, as a matter of fact, and that's what led me to check out the Wikipedia article about the city. Dmleach 16:16, 25 Apr 2005 (UTC)
Dave Thomas
[edit]From where did Dave Thomas hail if it wasn't Knoxville, Tennessee. He lived and worked with the Regas brothers. -- Fingers-of-Pyrex 17:44, 2005 Jun 1 (UTC)
- It appears that Thomas lived in Oak Ridge during WWII and rode a bus into Knoxville to work in the restaurant. I remember reading somewhere, though, that he actually lived with the Regas family in Knoxville at some point. Another research project for another day. -- Fingers-of-Pyrex 21:55, 2005 Jun 1 (UTC)
Re: Tennessee Highways
[edit]Collaboration is good. I have the "official" list of state routes from TDOT, and I'm working on making the "official" list for Wikipedia. I've got routes 1-200 done, but they go up to 457 (plus State Route 840). Send me an e-mail, and I'll reply with the source document and the wiki text; then you can do some and I can do some. -- Fingers-of-Pyrex 18:18, 2005 Jun 19 (UTC)
- Send me an e-mail via Wikipedia. Then I can reply directly with the attachments. -- Fingers-of-Pyrex 20:22, 2005 Jun 19 (UTC)
- I've updated the page List of Tennessee state highways sans routes 201-300. -- Fingers-of-Pyrex 04:31, 2005 Jun 20 (UTC)

[edit]Greetings, ZekeMacNeil! Please accept this message as an invitation to categorize your user page in the category Category:Wikipedians in Tennessee and removing your name from the Wikipedia:Wikipedians/Tennessee page. A sort of small thing
[edit]You "undid the actions of a vandalizing infantile retard" in your own words on New Orleans. While correcting vandalism is great, many people live with, work on behalf of, and take care of "retards." Please consider your word choice. Marskell 22:47, 22 September 2005 (UTC)

Category:Clan MacNeil has been proposed for deletion
[edit]Category:Clan MacNeil has been proposed for deletion at Wikipedia:Categories for discussion#Family name categories under the assumption that it is a "family name category". Please provide your opinion on that page, especially if it is meant to be something other than a "family name" category (e.g. a clan history category). Mike Dillon 22:45, 24 November 2006 (UTC)
Grace Moore
[edit]What was your basis for saying that Grace Moore moved to Chattanooga as a child? All sources indicate that she grew up in Jellico, which claims her as its most famous citizen. For example, see http://tennesseeencyclopedia.net/imagegallery.php?EntryID=M119 , http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0601254/bio , and http://www.gracemoore.net/biography.php --orlady 18:13, 25 November 2006 (UTC)
Please remember to mark your edits as minor when (and only when) they genuinely are minor edits (see Wikipedia:Minor edit). Marking a major change as a minor one (and vice versa) is considered poor etiquette. The rule of thumb is that only an edit that consists solely of spelling corrections, formatting, and minor rearranging of text should be flagged as a 'minor edit'. Thanks!
Note also the need to give sources for claims. --Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 09:01, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
Good catch!

- I came all the way here to say the very same thing: Thanks! Funny, I was looking at my own name's page today too (it's a different one). :-) Hope you like what I've done with "yours"; it was a bigger project than I anticipated! Fayenatic london 21:42, 5 February 2007 (UTC)
- Oops -- according to Zeke, that's not what it's short for. My bad. Fayenatic london
Chattanooga History Project
[edit]Hey Zeke. I'm thinking about starting up a wikipedia Chattanooga History project. I've been slowly over the last few weeks creating, expanding, and cleaning up notable Chattanooga related articles (persons, places, business, and organizations). I've been focusing a lot on the families and persons who've played such a big role in the development of the town: Carters, Luptons, Pattens, Probasco's, Johnstons, etc. I figured it may be a good idea to get us all chattanooga interested wikipedians collaborating together. Waddya think? Qmax 21:57, 14 April 2007 (UTC)
- Just wanted to give you a headsup that I moved St. Elmo to a new page with the correct name: St. Elmo Historic District. I have the history of St. Elmo book, which I'm guessing will come in handy once we start putting together the Chattanooga History project. Oh, and I'm a PK too. :) Qmax 21:43, 15 April 2007 (UTC)
Hey, I joined WP:TN and am gonna start up the Chattanooga History Task force. BillCJ is in too. Qmax 23:35, 15 April 2007 (UTC)
The Chattanooga Task Force is going! Qmax 03:58, 18 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:UTC MOCS mascot.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Wikimania in Atlanta!
[edit]Hi! I noticed your involvement on U.S. South-related articles, categories and WikiProjects, and I wanted to let you know about a bid we're formulating to get next year's Wikimania held in Atlanta! If you would like to help, be sure to sign your name to the "In Atlanta" section of the Southeast team portion of the bid if you're in town, or to the "Outside Atlanta" section if you still want to help but don't live in the city or the suburbs. If you would like to contribute more, please write on my talk page, the talk page of the bid, or join us at the #wikimania-atlanta IRC chat on freenode.org. Have a great day!
P.S. While this is a template for maximum efficiency, I would appreciate a note on my talk page so I know you got the message, and what you think. This is time-sensitive, so your urgent cooperation is appreciated. :) Mike H. I did "That's hot" first! 07:39, 4 September 2007 (UTC)

Message regarding your use of the No Multi License Template
[edit]In case you are not aware, the Wikimedia Foundation has proposed that the copyright licensing terms on the wikis operated by the WMF – including Wikipedia – be changed to include the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike (CC-BY-SA) license in addition to the current GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) as allowed by version 1.3 of the GFDL. The community has approved this change with 75.8% in favor, and on June 15, 2009, the change will take effect.
You currently have {{NoMultiLicense}} on your user or user talk page, which states that your edits are licensed under the GFDL only. On or before June 15, this template will be changed to reflect Wikipedia's new licensing terms. If you accept the licensing change, you do not need to do anything (and feel free to remove this message); if you do not accept it, we regret that you will no longer be able to contribute to the encyclopedia. Please join the discussion at Wikipedia:Village pump (policy)#NoMultiLicense template if you have any comments.

It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
