Topics for ArbCom Cooperation Meeting
[edit]There will be, announced in the near future, a meeting for all members of the AMA towards the specific purpose of working closer with ArbCom. This is a separate meeting from the normal Membersip Meeting.
- The ArbCom Cooperation Meeting will be held at Wikipedia:Association of Members' Advocates/Meeting/ArbCom 2007.
- Agenda: The initial points on the Agenda were brought up by The Uninvited Co., Inc. on the 28th of January 2007.
- A concise statement that outlines the purpose of AMA-ArbCom cooperation.
- Discussing how the AMA can show clear and concisely presented cases to ArbCom.
- The role of an Advocate as the active participant in an ArbCom case, rather than their advocee. (If a request for arbitration includes a statement from someone stating that they wish to be represented by a member advocate and that they are going to refrain from direct participation in the case themselves, Uninvited would respect that and would expect that most other committee members would as well, as a practical matter).
- Establishing a track record as an asset to arbitration itself in addition to helping out by steering cases to the most appropriate forum.

Summary of December '06 meeting
[edit]- Meet & Greet
- Result: We have many, many new members
- Previously unresolved issues
- Result: The proposal for an Election Officer was withdrawn by the nominator. The idea of developing a system of accountability will be carried over to the next meeting after several good proposals were made and plenty of discussion.
- Possible Deputy Election
- Result: A new third deputy will now be elected
- Result of election: Martinp23 has been elected as a deputy coordinator.
- AMABot
- Result: AMABot is working rather well and is facilitating the Advocacy process.
- Advocates IRC Channel
- Result: The "never been on it, but want to" section wins by one vote. New ways to connect to the system could well encourage an increase in use. A new system is described here.
- New Requests for Assistance System
- Result: Everyone seems to like how the new system is working, and Martin has interfaced AMABot with it.
- AMA Related Implications of the MyWikiBiz Case
- Result: No new policies enacted. Any MyWikiBiz related action should be separate from the AMA.
- Membership Roll
- Result: Response to the template was apparently not as was hoped. Some suggestions were made as to how to improve the template and could well be worth a try.
- Policy considerations
- Advocate screening and bar
- Result: Good points were raised by all. It is a contentious issue and should be discussed in greater detail at the next meeting.
- Advocees demanding wikilawyering
- Result: This proposal should be considered in more detail at the next meeting.
- Advocates on either side of a dispute
- Result: The idea is a good one, further discussion at the next meeting is in order.
- Team structure
- The proposal for teams to tackle recurring topics is a good one, discussion will continue at the next meeting.
- Esperanza Co-Op
- Result: The proposal unfortunately died (for now) when Esperanza did., though discussion was focused towards co-operation between all WP:DR groups.
- Deputy Coordinator Review
- Result: The community response seems to be that I am seen to be doing alright, I felt suitably humbled. Wikiwoohoo 19:29, 2 January 2007 (UTC)
- AMA Logo
- Result: Image:DFRAMA.png by Dfrg.msc was voted the replacement to Steve's original design. Implementation of the image as the official AMA logo is down to Steve.
- AMA-ArbCom Co-Op
- Result: Greater co-operation with Arb Com and other dispute resolution agencies is an idea that should be developed further. This discussion will be carried over to the next meeting.
- Page organization
- Result: The somewhat varied styles for AMA pages were fixed by Martinp23 and Royalguard11 who have made all pages subpages of the main AMA page.
- Disappointing Link
- Result: The message was disappointing, though it gives us something to work on. Improving co-operative work with the Arbcom is something which will be carried over to the next meeting for greater consideration.
- Fair Use images pollcy
- Result: Royalguard11 and Martinp23 both gave good responses to an enquiry relating to fair use and how Wikipedia deals with it.
- Cases
- Result: Royalguard11 provided an excellent answer to a new member's query.
- Requests by email
- Result: The idea is a good one and should be discussed further at the next meeting.
- Designation of interim Coordinator
- Result: Discussion will be put on hold until the next meeting.
