User:ScottDavis/redlinks
This is a page full of links that were red when I created them in some article. Many of them were not the first red link to an article of that name. Over time, I'd like to make stubs or short articles for them all, so I can not be blamed for making more red links. Hopefully, others will beat me to it, and the list will gradually turn blue. Unfortunately, I seem to still be making the list longer as quickly as it turns blue.
places
[edit]George Chaffey Bridge Gonn Crossing, Bongilla Bridge Heywoods Bringenbrong Bridge Indi Bridge Biggara Bridge
Apamurra, Kapinnie, Iron Duke lime sand and a few red links remain on some of the railway route templates in SA.
Rivers
[edit]Myponga River Tod River Finniss River (South Australia)
Others
[edit]Restored places
[edit]I restored a bunch of very short place articles in SA on 15 June 2017 that need to be updated to the current style and have a little more context added to them: Cooke Plains Korunye Lake View Stone Well Coulta Lowbank Caloote Reeves Plains Qualco New Well Linwood Kielpa Cungena Cockaleechie Burrungule Wanilla Veitch Mambray Creek - Risdon Park Halidon
non-places
[edit]- United Church in North Australia looks like an ecumenical precursor to the UCA built out of a necessity in Darwin.
- any people remaining as red links in Methodist Church of Australasia - several also have inbound links from to-do/ADB.
Wikidata oddities
[edit]I have worked out how to query Wikidata to find items that do not have English wikipedia articles and are located in South Australia. The first time I tried this query on 22 Feb 2018, it found 8745 items!
PREFIX schema: <http://schema.org/> SELECT ?item ?itemLabel ?linkcount WHERE { ?item wdt:P131 wd:Q35715. ?item wikibase:sitelinks ?linkcount . FILTER (?linkcount >= 1) . # only include items with 1 or more sitelinks FILTER NOT EXISTS { ?article schema:about ?item . ?article schema:inLanguage "en" . ?article schema:isPartOf <https://en.wikipedia.org/> } SERVICE wikibase:label { bd:serviceParam wikibase:language "en,de,es,ar,fr" } } GROUP BY ?item ?itemLabel ?linkcount ORDER BY DESC(?linkcount)
Mount Gunson
[edit]There appear to be red links to Mount Gunson, Mount Gunson, South Australia and Mount Gunson Airport as well as non-linked mentions. It seems to be a hill and a mining province with small historic mines (including a school opened in 1974) and current ongoing exploration by Torrens Mining.
It is on Pernatty Station which doesn't seem to have an article either (nor does Pernatty, South Australia), and is also the site of Carrapateena mine which does have an article.

Counts of Wikidata items with German but not English wikipedia articles by state/territory on 23 February 2018:
- Australia: 1
- Australian Capital Territory: 3
- Cocos (Keeling) Islands: 2
- Heard and McDonald Islands: 6 (!!?)
- New South Wales: 105
- Norfolk Island: 0
- Northern Territory: 82
- Queensland: 267
- South Australia: 21
- Tasmania: 256
- Victoria: 33
- Western Australia: 325
Lakes and rivers seem to feature strongly in the lists. I'm not sure if German has had some bulk generation of articles too?
