Missing sports usage

[edit]

Judged sports frequently require competitors to salute the judging panel prior to beginning or after completing their performances. In artistic gymnastics, for example, the gymnast faces the judges and holds up one arm, palm forward, after receiving the green light or flag. In figure skating, the competitor bows to the judges after completing their routine. 207.180.169.36 (talk) 22:45, 1 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Salutes in pop culture section removed

[edit]

I have noticed that the section for salute in popular culture was removed. Should it be re-added? Haikal Prasta (talk) 13:48, 19 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Civilian salutes is a mess

[edit]

The entire article is kind of a mess and too long, but the Civilian salutes section in particular is a mess. Several entries seem random and out of place, such as 'greetings' and 'obeisances'. Additionally, several other entries are poorly written and make claims with no citations. Because of this, I believe that many of the entries in this section should be removed.
