Name
[edit]I think it would be interesting to find the story of why he named himself after the Revolutionary war general Artemas Ward. I know a lot of his humor was based on misspelling and mispronunciation, so that part fits. It's not immediately evident on a Google search, but I'll try to find it. Very Silly
[edit]This article is very silly. It is mostly about people who are not to be confused with the subject, thereby confusing the matter even more. It would have pleased Artemus Ward enormously. --80.88.220.6 09:22, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
exact birth date
[edit]y23 could you please double check whether or not it was 26 april? it says so in various other encylodediae —Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.197.16.12 (talk) 18:35, 27 July 2008 (UTC)
Goak Here
[edit]Would it be useful if this article dealt with the "Goak Here" notation attributed to Ward by A. J. P. Taylor? If you Google "Goak Here" you get lots of AJPT refs, but mostly only via-Taylor references to Ward, which seems odd. Could this situation be improved, I wonder, by someone who knew the subject? (e.g not me!) Thanks 138.37.199.206 (talk) 19:16, 11 December 2008 (UTC)
