Good dictdef. There are ways to broaden this. It entered English because of the language of revolution. If some of that context got in, it might be worthy. In its present form: delete.

ambitious, but I propose linking the 'list of english phrases of french origin' to a new page, not a definition page but an explication of the American Meaning of each phrase on the list, moving the material from this page to that page THEN redirect to the 'definition/explication page.Pedant 23:49, 3 Aug 2004 (UTC)
