Alpha-galactosidase in section called "Enzyme replacement therapy". Beano, Bean-zyme, etc

Alpha-galactosidase is mentioned in that section. At only US$200,000 per patient per year.

Are the cheap oral forms effective at all? See: Alpha-galactosidase#Supplements:

α-GAL derived from aspergillus niger (a common mold) is an active ingredient in products marketed to reduce stomach gas production after eating foods known to cause gas. It is optimally active at 55 degrees C, after which its half-life is 120 minutes. There are scores of supplements containing the enzyme over the counter in the United States and many more world wide.
