Name?

[edit]

so what's the "M" stand for? the article doesn't even offer a theory!

and was he really born "benny", not benjamin? not impossible, but it strikes me as unlikely. 66.105.218.18 (talk) 08:57, 11 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Senate

[edit]

how many senators or even congressmen have/had native blood? i thought this would jump out from the article ("lone indian congressman", "third in history" etc) but if it's in there, i'm not seeing it! 66.105.218.18 (talk) 08:57, 11 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Untitled

[edit]

Does anyone know why he became a Republican? Anyone from Colorado? The article seems to imply he was just bending to the changing political winds, which seems spineless even for a politician. --BDD 02:12, 29 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Religion

[edit]

Mr. Campbell may well be Catholic, but throughout his career he has always left his religious affiliation unspecified on candidates questionaires and I think that should be reflected here. --Wgbc2032 23:31, 15 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Mr. Ben Nighthorse Campbell

[edit]

I worked for and with Mr. Campbell while he was General Manager for Sky Ute Downs in Ignacio, CO. I also was Mr. Campbell's jewelery photographer as well. Mr. Campbell and I grew to be very good friends during these few years we worked together. The point that I wish to make is this: Never in my 61 years have I ever had the pleasure of meeting a more genuine, honest, dedicated, helpful and loving human being as Mr. Ben Nighthorse Campbell. I can say this, without a doubt, if all the politicians in Washington D.C. were as genuine and "HONEST" as Mr. Campbell, this country would be in a much better condition. I consider myself a better human being for just knowing Ben. He truly loves his fellow man.

Sincerely, Daniel M. 'Bear' Lora —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.82.67.189 (talk) 03:35, 20 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Can anyone confirm that Ben's father Albert Campbell was a full blood American Indian. I have heard that Ben is as little as 1/16 Indian blood. I'm sure he isn't 1/2, and Albert Campbell isn't exactly a Native American name. Also, noticing that his name was originally Benjamin M. Campbell, it seems he may have exploited any Native blood he has, by adding "Nighthorse". —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.176.94.100 (talk) 03:03, 30 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
