User talk:Polyparadigm
Due to the length of this page, I've decided to archive old comments:
Hi, I noticed you signed up as a member of the Wikipedia:Version_1.0_Editorial_Team, which is looking to identify quality articles in Wikipedia for future publication on CD or paper. Recently, a 1.0 Collaboration of the Week was created to work on essential topics that are in need of improvement, which will ultimately go in a release version of Wikipedia. You can help by voting, contributing to an article, or simply making a comment. Thank you for your support. :) Gflores Talk 08:04, 4 February 2006 (UTC)

Image Tagging Image:Flexed dart.jpg
[edit]This media may be deleted.
|
Thanks for uploading Image:Flexed dart.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{GFDL-self}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Shyam (T/C) 09:17, 12 March 2006 (UTC)
Version 1.0 "Release Version Qualifying"
[edit]Hi, I'm interested in your feedback on Wikipedia talk:Version 1.0 Editorial Team/Release Version Qualifying. It's essentially an idea to use a process similar to WP:FAC to identify and handle articles and lists that would go in a release version. Maurreen 19:36, 8 April 2006 (UTC)
WP 1.0
[edit]I thought since you are interested in this project you might be interested to see a CD version of en now exists see Wikipedia:Wikipedia-CD/Download & 2006 WP CD Selection. Please sign your name with ~~~~
[edit]Hi,
You seem like a fairly experienced editor. This makes me surprised that you don't seem to sign your name on talk pages. In the future, would you please sign your name with four tildes (~~~~). Thanks. notice -> Fresheneesz 08:00, 10 September 2006 (UTC)

Just wanted to say Good job
[edit]This is probably the third time I've noticed your image of the Tic-Tac cover. It really highlights the resin identification code article. I especially like the note on the polypropylene living hinge.
Anyhow, I was looking through articles on recycling looking for unsourced or unvarifyable information when I stumbled accross this image again, and said to myself: someone should congradulate that wikipedian. I guess that someone is me. CoolMike 05:23, 21 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit]It's been a few weeks since you left a little note on my talk page about grind. All I did was build on what you started--though it is nice to be acknowledged by someone who has a history with the page. Waerloeg 11:06, 3 April 2007 (UTC)
The AACS key link in your page
[edit]I noticed that you had a link to an article named with the entire hexadecimal representation of the AACS key that got cracked. Just thought you may like to know that the key and information are at AACS cryptographic key controversy now, if you didn't know already. — metaprimer (talk) 23:36, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
Little context in Category:Redirects to Wiktionary
[edit]Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Category:Redirects to Wiktionary, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Category:Redirects to Wiktionary is very short providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles.
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Category:Redirects to Wiktionary, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Moving Precipitation hardening
[edit]Thanks for moving the article to precip hardening. However, it looks like you did a copy/paste and made a redirect instead of using the "move" button at the top of the page. When you use the move button, wikipedia will automatically move the talk pages and edit history of the page to its new location. For more info, see Wikipedia:Moving a page Thanks Iepeulas (talk) 12:47, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
On 8 February 2005, you edited the article on Roller-element bearing to include the line "Clever use of surface tension allows balls of high accuracy to be made much more cheaply than comparable cylinders." in the subsection on ball bearings. Being interested, I attempted to research this, and found no information indicating that bearing balls are manufactured using any properties of surface tension, with the possible exception of bearing balls being manufactured experimentally in space, which would certainly not be "made much more cheaply". Can you clarify this statement, and/or cite the source of your information? Thank you. 67.41.251.212 (talk) 05:26, 27 August 2008 (UTC)

The article Astring-O-Sol has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- appears non-notable: all I found were advertisements, passing mention in connection with sponsorships, and a press release
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. —rybec 23:03, 20 March 2013 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Image source problem with File:Minaret Samarra Iraq de-militarized.jpg
[edit]Thank you for uploading File:Minaret Samarra Iraq de-militarized.jpg.
This image is a derivative work, containing an "image within an image". Examples of such images would include a photograph of a sculpture, a scan of a magazine cover, or a screenshot of a computer game or movie. In each of these cases, the rights of the creator of the original image must be considered, as well as those of the creator of the derivative work.
While the description page states who made this derivative work, it currently doesn't specify who created the original work, so the overall copyright status is unclear. If you did not create the original work depicted in this image, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright.
If you have uploaded other derivative works, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F4 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 19:24, 30 September 2017 (UTC). If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Speedy deletion nomination of Film and Bag Federation
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Film and Bag Federation requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company, corporation or organization, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. DrStrauss talk 14:36, 30 October 2017 (UTC)
