Buffy Sainte-Marie[edit]Regarding Buffy Sainte-Marie, I'm quite sure she's Cree, not Inuit. Every biography I've read about her claims she was born on a Cree reservation, and she certainly doesn't look Inuit to me. I'm not familiar with her music, so it's possible the album referenced in this article actually does contain Inuit music. Can someone please verify these facts, though? —Psychonaut 15:05, 9 Feb 2004 (UTC) throat singing?[edit]I am mystified as to why this is referred to as throat singing. As far as I can tell, it does NOT involve overtone singing ala Tuva. There are a lot of sounds made with breathing and with the throat, but no overtones. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.178.132.22 (talk) 23:32, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
It's called throat singing because the sounds come out of the throat instead of through the lips. Othellobloke (talk) 06:56, 8 June 2009 (UTC) Alaska[edit]Alaska isn't the US?
