BC (Before Christ) in "The earliest documented instances of piracy were in the 14th century BC", & at 7 points in the history section, should be BCE (Before Common Era) because this article is not religious in nature. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 97.127.105.30 (talk) 00:12, 1 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The third paragraph begins with “Presently”. I’m not sure if the author is using its actual definition “in a short while” or as “at the present time”. If the latter, my suggestion is to replace it with “Currently”. 2600:1700:4600:4EA0:38CE:653E:E7F3:4CC4 (talk) 04:55, 18 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The definition of piracy given in the first sentence of the article has no reference, therefore a Citation Needed template should be put in place. 182.239.146.143 (talk) 02:18, 10 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
There is no "information in the body" that is referenced, therefore a citation is required per WP:CITE - "Wikipedia's verifiability policy requires inline citations for any material challenged or likely to be challenged". 182.239.146.143 (talk) 20:04, 10 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I've deleted 2013 POV & TONE templates to this section, which directs me here to explain my bold move. Seems those templates had stayed after a large section merger, and the section has been edited since. There seems no TALK History of either notice, and the labels no longer seem relevant.
