unreferenced opinion
[edit]a few unreferenced, unattributed opinion words (like "brilliant"), i marked them as citation needed. did these phrases come from the old encyclopedia this was copied from? if so, they need a specific source to justify inclusion here. --kipito 09:27, 4 January 2010 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kiphinton (talk • contribs)
De concordia
[edit]Didn't Vives publish a text entitled something like De concordia et discordia? Could someone update this? Dialektician 12:34, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
Double entries
[edit]- Dear friends, please note that both Juan Luís Vives and Juan Luis Vives are at en:wikipedia.
- At http://www.vives.org/ the name is not used consistent either because both you can see both Joan Lluís Vives i Marc and Joan Lluís Vives i March. Gangleri 04:32, 2004 Oct 4 (UTC)

Couldn't we come up with a better rendering than "his own sort of pro-virginity half-feminism"? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Lorenzodow (talk • contribs) 00:49, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
Armada has nothig to be neither with Catholic Monarchs nor with Spanish Inquisition. The naval war took place being Phillip II the King of Spain He was grand-grand child of the Catholic Monarchs. Please delete any linkage between Armada and Inquisition as it is tendentious.

No consensus Sceptre (talk) 16:06, 21 August 2008 (UTC) The Spanish form is overwhelmingly more common in English. In fact, it is almost impossible to fin an English source outside of Wikipeida using the Catalan form. Srnec (talk) 05:22, 15 August 2008 (UTC)
- Comment A Google search seems to imply the opposite. Can you provide additional evidence? JPG-GR (talk) 16:14, 19 August 2008 (UTC)
- I get different results. Removing Wikipedia from the search and restricting to English, I get only 4,110 hits. Some of these are false: they are references to Wikipedia, they are actually in Catalan, or they are references not to Vives but to libraries/instutes bearing his name. When I do the exact same search for "Juan Luis Vives", I get 44,700 hits. Most of these (9 out of the first 10) are good hits. Searches at GoogleBooks give similar results: there are very few English references (I stopped looking before I found one!) to a person named Joan Lluís Vives, but Juan Luis Vives is a famous humanist.
