"In Popular Culture" section?
[edit]Fellow Wikipedians, Why isn't there a section for the rifle's use in various video games? Is there a reason? Should I add it?
Z. G.
Agreed, I and many other men in the 18-40 demographic would probably have never heard of this weapon if not for games such as Counter Strike where the Arctic Warfare Police (AWP) features prominently as the most powerful sniper rifle in the game.

- I may be a bit late to this but yeah I do agree with this LOL. If this isn't replied to in a week I'll probably add it. Randomdudewithinternet (talk) 03:53, 4 April 2024 (UTC)
Swedish army
[edit]The L96 was used by the Swedish army, if its alright with everyone i'm going to add sweden as one of it's users. Infact it was because of sweden that the L96 was upgraded to `AW` to come with the Swedish winter.

- I think that's a good idea.
G22 link wrong

Weapons put in games
[edit]This is the best sniper in the NEXON game Combat Arms its a 1 hitter unless they have some sort of extra protection even shot in the foot will kill with it and no this weapon costs at least 4 grand —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.84.9.226 (talk) 20:02, 14 October 2008 (UTC)
- This is also the signature Sniper Rifle from Counter Strike, and I'm surprised this has not been brought up 75.131.224.220 (talk) 05:45, 11 June 2009 (UTC)
Necropost, but I'll just say that it's not the signature weapon of CS, just that it's a really popular weapon in the series. 69.158.144.42 (talk) 18:29, 27 July 2013 (UTC)
Necropost again, but it's also in Team Fortress 2 as the AWPer Hand. User:SmartyPantsKid 20:17, 21 November 2016 (UTC)

Split proposal
[edit]Thoughts about splitting off AT and AX as their own articles? They don't have to be anything fancy and with the split process we can preserve most of the relevant stuff that's already written. Jasonkwe (talk) (contribs) 23:00, 6 July 2022 (UTC)
